Management
Oxygen
- Aim for saturation 94-98%
- In COPD pts – 88-92%
IV fluids – in hypotensive patients
Analgesia – to relieve pleural pain
- Paracetamol/NSAIDs
Antibiotics – first dose should be given within 4 hrs of hospital admin
